Just a little over two weeks ago I had total knee replacement surgery. For those that might not know what that includes I will give a brief description.
After being knocked out in the surgical room the leg is opened up with foot long incision centered on the knee cap, lengthwise. Then the ends of the upper and lower leg bones are sawed off and metal parts are hammered into place. Some other parts are replace and then you are sewed back up. I have been walking without assistance two weeks later and outside walking with a walking stick.
Recovery can be a few months and so far I am way ahead of schedule. I am thrilled with my medical team and even more so with my recovery.
If you would like more just message me.

I am a retired Controls Engineer, Teacher and Code Officer. While in teaching I worked with students in crisis. This taught me to listen.
Before all that I had Testicular Cancer in 1975 . In both cases I had radiation but for the Prostate it was much more detailed, sophisticated, and focal.
My initial Prostate Cancer, Gleason 9 aggressive, treatment included Radiation and Hormone therapy. I am now on my third round of treatments. Yes the Cancer has returned but no spreading so far. PET scans, bone scans, MRI and lots of xrays under my belt.
Along the way I wrote a book about my Cancer experience, titled the same as this Blog.
I need to share my thoughts on Cancer and life in general.
Life is too precious to spend it angry, in pain, with fear, and doubts.
All I am trying to do is help others with Cancer be better.
